Tours and Trips are always too planned, strictly scheduled, and even sometimes rushy. But what about having a real experience of Italy without having to limit yourself and your imagination. This is exactly what we do at True Blue Italy, we value the real authentic and local experiences, as we believe that a culture is best discovered through how the locals live it.
Imagine an Italian experience beyond the classroom, where students will have a mind opening trip, lasting forever in their memories. The Rome & Puglia School Trip is a 10-day trip that combines history, culture, food, fun, and a lot of laughter all together in one. The trip departs from the U.S, and starts in the heart of Italy; Rome. After a long flight, what can be better than settling into your stays, and go for a chill stroll around the timeless neighborhood, ending up at a local eatery to connect and welcome the first day.
The program is designed in order for students to emerge into Italian culture and history. Some of the most important historical places are visited, where art and history unify. Students have a chance to experience the Galleria Borghese, Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St.Peter’s Basilica, Castel Sant'Angelo, followed by many other landmarks.Through these experiences they will have a greater understanding of how this timeless and glorious city is built along the years, as we all know that “Rome Wasn’t built in a day”.
After taking all the Roman culture in, it is time to move to Puglia, a southern region where the students will experience a different version of the Italian Lifestyle. Here they will step into a more local and authentic experience, where tradition and the art of slow living is highly valued. In Bari, one of the most beautiful coastal cities, students will attend a local food tour in the cute coastal town called Pulignano a Mare. As food is one of the most important cultural features, the discovery and introduction to new flavors and dishes is part of the real experience.
The trip continues with a visit to the Itria Valley, followed by experiencing the Alberobello houses, the extraordinary white limestone structures. Another important feature of the area are the long-lasting ceramics, which are known in Grottaglie. As such the trip will follow its way diving into these unforgettable experiences, including a hands-on cheese-making experience. This will be followed by a visit to Matera, which is known for the incredible cave dwellings, dating back to historical time. Having these multi-leveled experiences, and discovery of the beautiful, warm Italian culture and history, the students will be ready to take all of these memories back home.
In the final days, the tour will head back to Rome, through the airport of Fiumicino. In order to celebrate and cherish these unforgettable 10 days, a farewell dinner with a reflection on the trip will be the perfect ending for the students before departure.
This trip is not only about being a basic School Trip, it rather focuses on and aims to gain the students a new mind opening view and transformative experience, one that they will carry with them all along. A memory to be shared. With True Blue Italy, we connect culture, authenticity, and education with immersive experiences for long-lasting memories.
